About the Theatre
The Russian Amateur Drama Theatre in Kuala Lumpur is a chamber theatre community created out of love for the stage, the Russian word, and live human connection.
The theatre was born on 8 June 2014, when its first premiere took place: The Tale of Fedot the Strelets, based on Leonid Filatov’s best-known poetic work.
Since then, each production has become a separate event for the theatre: a meeting of people who value Russian culture, theatrical tradition, humour, warmth, and sincere communication with the audience.
Our spirit
We are not a permanent repertory theatre. We gather around each performance as around a shared creative occasion — preparing it with care, excitement, and respect for the audience.
The theatre is open to everyone: actors and spectators, those who love the Russian language, those who are interested in theatre, and those who simply want to spend an evening in a warm cultural atmosphere.
Our stage
Our performances are created by people who come to the stage not because it is their profession, but because theatre gives them joy, friendship, discipline, and a living connection with tradition.
For us, theatre is not only a performance. It is a meeting place — a place where people think, laugh, remember, and feel together.
